Schengen Visa Checklist for Pakistanis: What You Actually Need

A Schengen visa lets you visit 29 European countries on one visa, but from Pakistan, the application lives or dies on details. The good news: the checklist is fixed and public. Meet every line of it, and the decision becomes predictable instead of a lottery.

The Non-Negotiable Checklist

• Passport valid 3+ months beyond your return date, with 2 blank pages
• Completed application form for the correct country, signed and dated
• Two recent biometric photos on a white background (last 6 months)
• Travel medical insurance covering €30,000, valid across all Schengen states
• 3–6 months of bank statements, bank-stamped, showing regular income
• Flight reservation (not a paid ticket) and hotel bookings for every night
• Employer letter with leave approval, or business documents if self-employed
• A one-page cover letter explaining your trip in your own words

Two Rules People Always Get Wrong

First, the embassy rule. You must apply to the country where you will spend the most nights, or the country of first entry if the stay is equal. Apply to the 'easier' embassy with a fake itinerary and you risk refusal and a stamp that haunts every future application. Second, never pay for flights before the visa. Airlines and agencies issue refundable reservations that satisfy the embassy; we arrange these for clients daily.
