Pack light and pack right. The two commandments of Umrah travel. You will walk more than you expect, move between Makkah and Madinah, and live out of one suitcase through the most spiritually intense week of your life. Here is the list we hand every pilgrim at our desk before departure.
The Essentials
- Ihram: 2 sets for men (towels wear out fast with washing); women pack their regular modest clothing
- Documents in one folder: passport, visa printout, vaccination certificate, and 4 passport photos
- Comfortable sandals or slippers that slip off instantly. You will remove them constantly
- A drawstring bag for shoes at the Haram entrance
- Unscented soap, shampoo, and deodorant. Scented products are forbidden in ihram
- Basic medicines: paracetamol, ORS, throat lozenges, blister plasters, and your regular prescriptions
- Power bank, Saudi SIM (buy at the airport), and a small prayer mat
What to Leave Behind
Heavy food parcels from home: everything is available in Makkah, including desi groceries. Excessive clothes: laundry services run everywhere. And valuable jewellery; simplicity is the Sunnah on this journey anyway. One bag per person, weighing under 20 kg, keeps you mobile between cities and blessed by every porter you never need.
Right packing, right package. Ask us about Umrah deals where every detail is handled before you fly.
